We stayed at Cases Noves for 2 nights and what a pleasure that was, we were made to feel very special, with especially all those little special touches made by Sophie. A room with a view over the valley what more could one want. The meals were excellent and the saturday night tapas was very good with Toni explaining all the source of the ingredients. We were very sorry to leave but will definitely be back again. Good Luck to Toni and Sophie they deserve to make a success of their business.

Evening in Guadalest in Cases Noves |
|
| |
for: Eli Kvisvik, 05/08/2010
As written in previous post we were on overnight in Guadalest. It was a very good vacation decision, it would turn out.
Since we missed the Guadalest last year, I decided to get the most out of the place this year. So I searched on the net before we went and found his way to a page that is charming enough was called Little Hotels of Spain. It is, as the name implies, a page of small hotels in different parts of Spain. Including a hotel in Guadalest called Cases Noves.
I booked us into two rooms on July 26, which surprisingly enough was categorized as low season. The whole August is high season, but that is not the end of July. I think there is still regarded as a bit expensive with bed and breakfast for € 75 per room, but with a Norwegian wallet it is a very liveable price.
Tiger cub, Gold (my sister) and I arrived about 11:30 Guadalest. After taking a cab. In vacation mode, and with only one bus at 8:45, did not € 1 per kilometer deterrent. The comfortable taxi ride of 30 minutes cost € 30 from Benidorm. For us who are used to that it cost the same around the street corner in Oslo, it is not to be deterrent, and, after all, is the holiday - vacation.
Just beyond the parking lot overlooking the valley on one side and the castle on the other side lies Cases Noves. The small hotel, which currently has seven rooms, is run by Toni and Sofia. Sofia is from Guadalest, I mean to remember that Toni said. They have renovated the 70 years old house and decorated it perfectly beautiful. They will continue the renovation in the winter, and when it will be more rooms.
Bernia and Aitana The rooms were quite lovely, and Gold wanted to stay in the formidable nice shower. Tiger cub room and I had called Bernieand the room was called the Gold Aitana. I liked that the rooms had names instead of numbers. It is obviously easier in a hotel with only 6 rooms than in a large hotel, but still.
Everything was was tastefully decorated, and the old style was well taken care of. It was simply soul in the walls. It is the hosts who have created, and they did what they could for us to thrive. Including discount coupons for museums in Guadalest, and offers hiking routes in the area. It did not this time, but maybe next time?
For those of us who are concerned with the details, it is a point that the hotel hosts had thought of the things we could come to forget the bathroom, including a toothbrush, comb and manicure sets, in addition to the usual shower open and shampoo. All large and very good towels.
In addition to the wonderful rooms, the hotel had a DVD library, we could borrow movies, a CD library, we could borrow music, a room where you can sit and read and a small restaurant and a beautiful terrace with table and chairs wrought iron and views of the valley and Guadalest.
The owner says this: The house is More Than 70 years old (built in 1932), and although it has Been restored, all of the original characteristics of a rural mountain house Have Been retained. It has a combi nation of solid stone walls, high Ceilings, wooden beams, and stone floors, Which are typical of the area. Whilst retaining its original charm, it has all the latest comforts That You Would Expect From a recently Constructed establishment. With its situation at the edge of the village, all of the bedrooms garden, wonderful views of the sea and the Valley of Guadalest.
None of this is excessive advertising or beautiful painting. It really is like that.
After a day wandering the narrow streets and the castle, we took a little siesta in the hotel room. In the evening we took a new turn, and then it was quiet in the narrow little streets. We walked around and looked, but we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the sun warmed just right. We bought honey and nutmeg-spiced cake on a small bakery and sat at the old walls and felt the existence endure all ease. It was lovely to be there after most others had left with plenty of space and minimal crowds everywhere.
We ate dinner at the hotel. I think it is that Sofia is the is the chef, because Toni had to wait until she came to tell us what we could get to dinner. Dinner is served at your convenience for guests. There is no fixed time, you say only when it suits you to eat. The same goes for breakfast. We met a nice covered tables outside on the terrace when we came down to eat.
The food was enjoying the excellent, even though Tiger cub did not like the Chevre-style cheese in the salad we got to the starter. Unlike me. For main course I ate swordfish and the other chicken. Beautiful, pure and simple. We (that is not Tiger cub!) Drank a very good white wine to the food. It was produced by Terras Gauda and tasted absolutely superb. To my great delight, they have it on Vinmonopolet. It must be purchased in the morning that day, so I do not have to worry that they will run out.
It must be purchased and enjoyed one day hopefully it is warm enough to sit on the balcony. We got dessert, but it is none of us who remember what it was. While we remember the good feeling. Dinner was definitely value for its € 18 and it was the wine for its € 20 too.
It was full moon when we were in Guadalest. So while we sat outside on the terrace and ate, we saw the moon come out from behind the mountains. It was round and pink, and when it came in the midst of the sky between the valleys we saw the reflection in the Mediterranean far below. Just take out the big words, it was stunning beautiful, so beautiful that I got a lump in my throat. Such moment that is remembered long time, and you can close your eyes and see again because you feel the moment with you. The moment was very strong for the of us had someone to miss (it was not me), it was a true romantic moment, if I have ever seen.
Mette and satisfied we went to bed after watching a movie in the room. We slept as well, with air conditioning (it was not in Benidorm), in very peaceful surroundings. The next day we had breakfast under a parasol on the terrace. It began with a plate of sliced fruit, yogurt and freshly squeezed juice. It continued with bread, cheese and ham, and strawberry jam. Finally, we got coffee. Great good and included.
After breakfast we packed our things and checked out of the rooms. Luggage did we stand at the hotel, while we spent the day in museums and shops in Guadalest. When we got back to Benidorm, we were all agreed that it was a genius to be over night in Cases Noves. It made the experience of Guadalest to something completely different than it would have been if we had gone into the streets where the daytime.
Are you in the Alicante area and you have no hurry to get on, then get over night in Guadalest and Cases Noves. I recommend that you actually make a point of not having more busy than you do. Select like a night with full moon, but I´m pretty sure that it is great that even without it. Anyway, we did not get a picture of it, so you have to try to experience it yourself.
Have a good trip if you travel, and thanks to Toni and Sofia for a wonderful stay in Guadalest.

One of the best holidays so far..=) The surroundings are magnificant and the hotel even better. The hosts are very friendly and helpfull and the fact that the food is close to a fivestar restaurant doesn´t make it worse. The hotel has a very high standard with a good mix of new, modern and fresh style combined with the traditional Spanish way of building and decorating. It is a strongly recomended accomodation if you are to visit Guadalest or its surroundings. Many thanks! Magnus and Anna

This place is awesome. My husband and I cancelled a 5 star resort night during our honeymoon to extend our stay. Toni and Sofia are absolutely wonderful people, and very gracious. The place is impeccable, and Sofia´s cooking is great! It was such a nice break from restaurant food. Her dad was bringing fresh produce from their garden daily. By far one of the most memorable moments of our trip. Thanks to you both and congratulations on the renovations. It looks beautiful!

for: Tasha, 09/05/2010
Cases Noves in Guadalest is a real gem. A beautifully restored old house run a by a young spanish couple Toni and Sophie who do their utmost to make you feel at home. Breakfasts are a leisurely 5 course affair on the verandah looking over the beautiful guadalest valley. We used the pension as a base for hillwalking - Toni is a hill walker himself so able to give us daily tips on the routes and weather and access to all the wonderful walks all around . At night we ate Sophies wonderful cooking. On saturday night she cooks a wonderful 10 course tapas - every dish is beautifully served with the finest of local ingredients. Its a real feast and celebration of spanish food.
This place is special and a real find. We liked it so much we went there september 2009 and enjoyed it so much that we returned at easter bringing18 friends with us!
(Don´t be put off by the tourists in the town -they come in buses in the morning but are gone by 6pm so we were practically the only tourists in town each night)

for: Karen Kaur, 18/04/2010
This was truly a gem of a place. Beautifully set above the picturesque village of Guadalest, surrounded by mountains, the hotel was divine. The rooms were lovely and charming. There was a fireplace in the living room. Coffee / tea making facilities, books, CDs, television, free internet. Fantastic. Toni and Sophia who own and run the place were amazing! The service and attention to detail and their elegance in everything they did made it an experience indeed. Food was gorgeous and beautifully served. Breakfast on the terrace with the view of the mountains was something else. Definitely plan to return.

Hosts were absolutely brilliant |

for: Sarah Webb, 30/09/2009
Toni and Sofie as hosts were absolutely brilliant. I don´t know what there background is but they have obviously stayed in hotels where there were missings and listed them. They have now ensured there are no missings in their establishment. It was an absolute delight to stay somewhere where it was total relaxation and everything was as you hoped - indeed better in every respect. Please pass this on to Cases Noves. We have an apartment just over an hour away and will definitely take friends to Cases Noves again and find an excuse for an away night for us. We must go on a Saturday so we can try the tapas evening. Little Hotels will be a definite site to visit if we are looking for a relaxing break if this is the standard we can expect. Thanks again. for: Darren O´Brien, 04/09/2009
We stayed three nights at Cases Noves at the beginning of september. It is a lovely, homely hotel and the owners, Toni and Sophie did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
We ate at the hotel each evening. It was a plesent surprise to go out on the terrace and find two tables (there was four of us) set out with table cloths and candles. It was all very special and made the stay even more delightful.
We would recomend a stay at this hotel if you are in the area and would even recomend making the effort to travel to this hotel.

Unbelieveable there are no words to describe ... |

Unbelieveable there are no words to describe the hospitality experienced
Our daughter recently got married in Guadalest and we stayed in Cases Noves before the wedding ceremony so that she could walk to the Church. Initially we chose Guadalest for its beauty and Cases Noves for its authentic Spanish style. In making contact with the owners Toni and Sophia it soon became apparent that these people were a couple in a million and before long they became our personal wedding planning assistants! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were soon roped into negotiating a venue for our champagne reception and acting as interpreters. Restaurant La Plaza in the square of Guadalest produced the most beautiful tapas and the service was brilliant again nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Cases Noves is a beautiful small hotel with beautiful owners who will make anyone feel welcome. Sitting on the terrace for a fantastic breakfast looking down the mountain will remain in our memories forever. I don´t know about the Spanish language but i cannot find a big enough word in the English language to thank them both enough.

We stayed in Guadalest for one night at hotel Cases Noves and were met by a very friendly english speaking couple who own and run the hotel, our room was very nice with tv, dvd player, and a great power shower, the hotel had free internet access and wifi on request. A great and very reasonably priced dinner was served on the patio with great views of the surrounding hills and mountains, breakfast was the same and got our day of to a great start, our only mistake was that we didn´t stay longer. Guadalest is somewere we would like to go back to some time and would definitly stay at Cases Noves.

for: Alla, 27/05/2009
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends but not to all of them. Tall and/or stout man might feel uncomfortable in a cosy small bedroom. Toni and Sofie are really friendly and helpful, food they serve is fine and atmosphere is homy. Be awared of late arrival/return in a case you haven´t had your dinner yet - it is a small village - people go to bed quite early and best you can get at 11pm is pizza.

for: Kate Loader, 10/04/2009
Our one night stay at Cases Noves in Guadalest was perfect. Tony and Sophie were the perfect hosts, leaving us to our own devices but letting us know that they were there if we needed anything at all.
The room was beautifully decorated and clean with the most amazing views out to sea from our balcony. Enjoying our breakfast on their patio on our own in the sunshine with the castle in view was a high point in our holiday.
We would definately recommend it as a place to stay and hope to return there ourselves one day soon.

The mountains at Guadalest! |

for: Dejonghe, 19/03/2009
If you want to turn your back on the Costa Construct Cement (Benidorm) escape to the tourist honeypot in the mountains at Guadelest! No need to worry because at Cases Noves you will find a haven of rest and hardly notice the tourist buses if you plan your exploration of the village before 11 am and after 5pm. Toni and Sophie are a young welcoming couple with 4 ensuite rooms serving evening meals and offering help and advice to holidaymakers, especially walkers. Lovely to return from a mountain walk, settle down in the lounge or on the terrace before enjoying one of Sopie´s meals. We chose a rather cool time of year but Toni and Sophie really made a cosy base to return home at the end of our walks.

We had a fantastic stay in Guadalest. Sophie & Tony were truly amazing hosts. The Hotel was perfect the food outstanding. We would definitely recommend staying at Casa Noves. Just one problem and that was the local bus. We went from Benidorm on the 1 and only bus a day when there were 6 passengers but it was FULL for the return journey and so we had to have a taxi back. Walkers Paradise with home comforts! |
|

for: Walkers-ny (North Yorkshire), 29/11/2008
We have just come back from 4 day´s walking around the beautiful mountains & valleys of Guadalest and cannot recommend more highly the accomodation and service that Sofia & Toni gave us at the apartments of Cases Noves. Having picked the location, we then realised that there was little choice in accomodation. Thank goodness Cases Noves is there! Whilst there is little else open at night in Guadalest in November (just Cases Noves if you book a meal and La Burrita for a drink & tapas), we came for the walking, not the nightlife and we like it quiet! Toni´s expert knowledge of the local area, his attention to detail in the maps that he provided us with and Sofia´s superb collection of DVDs that we borrowed each night to enjoy back in our self catering apt all served us well! We loved it and I am sure that eating outside in the summer at Cases Noves would be quite something. The restoration of Cases Noves has clearly been a labour of love and makes a superb base for exploring this beautiful area, strewned with medieval ruined castles and villages dotted around the mountains. Guadalest itself is perfect picture postcard stuff and it was rather special having the place to ourselves in the evening, after the day trippers had returned to the coast. We managed to get here on the local bus from Altea / Benidorm - however, we would recommend a car to enable you to explore the area still further. Thanks Toni & Sofia - muy amable. Very comfortable small hotel |
|
| |
for: Roy Case, 31/10/2008
We booked a 2 night weekend special offer which inculded breakfast and evening meal. It was just as well we included evening meal as there was no where open to eat in the evening in Guadalest.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with lots of extras such as free internet access.
Meals could be taken at any time to suit you which was great. The only downside was that there was little choice of what to eat. However, when I did not like the desert offered they did produce a lovely selection of fresh fruit instead.
The Tapas meal on Saturday evening was far to much to eat. Each course is brought out to you in turn and by the 12th course it was beginning to feel like tourture by food but maybe it was our fault for eating everything!!!

During June 2008 my wife and I had the most tremendous stay at Cases Noves. The rooms were fantastic, the food superb and our hosts(Toni and Sophie) absolutely delightful. We were treated like old friends, although we had only arrived that day. As a visitor attraction Guadalest is well known, but when you add the welcome, service and attention to detail at Cases Noves it takes it to another level. We have been so impressed, and my Wife and I stay in Hotels all over Europe with our work we are going to return as soon as we possibly can.

Toni and Sofi run the place impecibly. The food is fresh and traditional meals are availiable in the evening with an amazing 12 course set tapas menu on Saturdays.
The whole place is decorated with great attention to detail including a huge selection DVDs are available, free internet, CD´s.
Really cant recommemd this place highly enough - a brilliant place to stay and escape the cheesy coastal resorts but still be close to the beach!

Great Hospitality, Relaxing and Activity in a stun |

for: Oliver und Anna, 14/03/2008
For our little Spain holiday we decided to stay in Cases Noves for 8 nights. It was the best thing we could do. Cases Noves was a great base location for day trips with a car (80Eur/wk), cycling or hiking. Like an eagles nest the village is located between 1500m high mountains with dramatic stone formations and there are always the views to the sea. During the day the village is buzzing with day-visitors but when we returned in the evening to relax, it was very nice and quite. Some nice unspoiled villages in the valley are scattered across the landscape of fields of olive, figs, orange and almong trees. "La Burrita" is a nice local tapas bar near the hotel, which is always good for a drink before you go to bed. Don´t miss out a walk in the Aitana mountains. Toni knows all the walks. He is a great advisor for your activities. Sofia does delicious tapas (12 course meal on Saturday) and the breakfast is great. This is Highly recommended also for longer stays. You won´t be bored.

We stayed in El Pi Spring apartment in 2007 and i did not realise i could place a comment. This holiday was the most relaxing one we have had for a long time. The apartment was very clean and had all the amenities you would want. We breakfasted looking out to the mountains and of an evening we would sit on the balcony and watch the changing scenery. We found the flat an ideal location to go walking from and it was an easy drive to visit places. The location of the flat meant it was an easy stroll to take part in village life but you were not disturbed by noise.. I cannot recommend this accomodation highly enough and cannot wait to book it again
